Very pleasant and “Cath Kidstonesque” decor. The coffee is really nice – I recommend the Mocha. I have been there twice and would go back again.

Constructive criticism: It is true the service is a bit slow. Also the servers should be trained a little in etiquette so that they can take better care of their customers.

We love Megarrys! It’s a lovely place to go to for a cup of tea and cake and looking at/ buying the antiques is an added bonus! Well worth a visit.

Been here twice. Both times service was very slow.
Tea pots were dirty and I’ve had a burnt tea cake and a soggy croissant here.
I also got the cold shoulder from staff because I had entered through the ‘wrong’ door – they could not even bring themselves to say ‘good morning’ or ‘goodbye’.
Shame – it looks nice but underneath it’s just another grubby tea shop.

We visited yesterday, and unfortunately were midway through our cake and tea when the alarm went off. Nothing wrong with that… it showed that it was at least working efficiently. But no hint of compensation when it was discovered that no member of staff could turn it off. And it went on and on, never ending. The overpowering and long lasting bombardment of our ears led to our earlier than expected departure. A very good cake and tea experience somewhat spoilt by poor customer relations.

Cherry on top is one of the most wonderful cafes I have been too, and so close by! Such good value for money, you needn’t worry about being given too small a slice of cake or not having a wide selection – neither is a problem. Once you have decided (and with such choice it can be difficult) you’re given a huge slice, so definitely worth not eating too much before you leave.

Also great for those without a sweet tooth. They have a wide selection of wonderful panninis, sandwiches and other lunch time food, and worth trying their chips with homemade garlic mayonnaise.

All round great food, great atmosphere and great service. A great treat for all.

ohh the joy i drove out of london after a week of bad news riots and police sirens on a bit of a mystery tour with my mum id looked up this place night before as a great place for a cup of tea in essex it didnt dissapoint felt like we had gone to visit a friends house it is beautiful a real one off Judy made us a lovely pot of tea and homemade cake with lots of warm welcome then we took a little walk around the garden to have a look at the gypsy caravan AMAZING we were allowed inside i have always wanted to do this all i all a lovely afternoon will b back very soon my mum summed up in one word TREASURE thank you Judi c u again x

we have been coming down to newquay for the past 15 years and have always called in for cakes i have even taken home on the last day of our holidays a large chocolate fudge cake so its great now i can have it delivered by courier. …are you just doing the 3 types of cakes mentioned on you web site as i also love the strawberry gateaux and the cheese cakes are these available for courier?.
