My boyfriend and I have visited Newquay several times in the last few years and always make time for a trip to Pauline's. We always have to have a strawberry cream turnover which are fantastically large and taste amazing. We've also bought several slices of cheesecake and other cake to have after dinner later on and they too are always lovely.
Excellent pasties too.

Dear Frankie
I am Mick Hellier the owner of Tea on the Green. Danbury Essex
I was very surprised at your comments regarding your visit to my Tea Shop.

We are very proud of our shop and only serve quality food and drinks. We have not won awards of excellence from the Tea Council of Great Britain for the last nine years through serving the sort of food you are suggesting!!!!

I would gladly discuss your comments at your convenience.

As far as your breakfast was concerned we only serve healthy food so, sausages Im afraid are not included.

Our Brunch meal for your information is.... Free range scrambled eggs 3 (not fried) Local reared Bacon 2 rashers (not danish), Fresh Plumb tomatoes (not tinned), Baked Beans (tinned Im afraid), 2 slices of thick toast locally baked by our master bakers (not tescos), fresh juice of your choice (5 choices), and freshly ground coffee (arabecca blend) not instant and a choice of over 35 teas to choose from. All freshly cooked and prepared I might ad!!
All this for £9.85 ???? Good value,I would suggest!!!! along with hundreds of other returning satisfied customers.

May I suggest

1. you read the menu before ordering your food at any other establishment you might visit to avoid disappointment in the future.
2. If you require a "greasy Spoon" breakfast !! a transport Cafe would probably be more your venue of choice.

I look forward to hearing from you
Regards
Mick Hellier (proprietor,Tea on the Green)

I've eaten quite a few meals, elevenses and afternoon tea at Stop The World, but now I seem to always order the pancakes with maple syrup and bacon, with a big mug of coffee. It's the perfect way to start the day.

Not sure if Frankie went to the same place as my firend & I went to, but the food was lovely, the salads were huge, no skimping on the prawns in the salad I had. We will be booking again soon for lunch.
BTW if the food is so bad WHY do you have to book for lunch? I think that says it all about the service & the food it the Danbury Tearoom.

I've just got back from a week in newquay, while i was there i visited paulines just on the off chance of getting a birthday cake for a friend of mine. i got a large chocolate cake, and only had to wait a couple of minutes while they even wrote the birthday message on it for a couple of quid. everyone who ate the cake loved it, commenting on how moist and tasty it was. i would be hard pushed to think of a better cake that i've had for a good few years. Well done pauline's, keep it up.

I visited Paulines Creamery while I was in cornwall on holiday in June, I got a piece of the fudge cake and when I tasted it I was actually a little dissapointed. The sponge cake was dense and dry, where as I thought it would be moist and light. The fudge icing was nice but missing something I can't quite put my finger on.

After just visiting Danbury Tea Rooms, I can safely say I will never visit there again. Our food was cold, the Ciabatta bread was so hard it couldn't even be cut through with a knife, the croissants were served cold with literally just a slice of cheese (cold) and a slice of ham in. It looks as though a child had made the food in about five minutes and didn't know how to work an oven. Not only was the food barely edible, it was outrageously expensive... £10 for a cooked breakfast without sausages, hash browns or mushrooms. Definitely a waste of time and money going there if you have any sense.
