  1. What a treasure! I found this place by chance and Im glad I did! The shop is full of really interesting items and the tea shop was very reasonable, the tea and cake I had was excellent.
There is a facinating “secret” garden aswell. I will certainly return.
    Many Thanks Jane Rayner

  2. I thought the shop was amazing! I’ve never seen anything like it before, lots of beautiful items. There was a lovely display of home made cakes and the cup cakes are yummy! I was over this way for an appointment and i thought this place was great. The gardens are beautiful too, will def be returning soon 🙂

  3. going to mcgarrys is one of my favorite ways of spending some enjoyable hours, what could be nicer than browsing around discovering all sorts of interesting things and then finishing your visit with a welcome cup of tea and a piece of cake.

  4. I visited the tea shop with my mum on Saturday (2nd July 2011) and had a lovely afternoon.

The home-made cream and jam scone was absolutely delicious (and warm) and went very well with quite a few cups of tea.

Beautiful and quiet surroundings with a charming and non-intrusive service.

    Thank you so much 🙂

  7. After reading your blog online my friends and I decided to go on a magical mystery tour of the surrounding countryside around Blackmore, we found your little gem of a Tea Shop early this morning and what a lovely welcome we got from you Judi. We certainly enjoyed our lovely tea and yummy homemade cakes. We can certainly recommend a visit to Megarrys and look forward to many more visits especially in the summer months when we can take afternoon tea in your pretty garden.

  8. We found this teashop when doing a walk with our dogs which was in Len Banisters Dog friendly walks in Essex book. He recommended the tearoom and we have been back so many times since. A nice walk for the dogs finished off with tea and delicious cakes for us.We are headed there again today as it happens. Always a very warm welcome and even opened especially for us one evening when we arrived a little after closing. Thank you Judi for all your hard work. Michele and Brenda and of course the dogs. Patch , Poppy and Jake.
